Why Indian Media is Critical of Baba Ramdev?

Sunday, June 5, 2011 0 comments
At the evening of fourth of June, when our Home Minister and veteran Congress party leader exposed the letter signed by one of the close followers of Baba Ramdev and implicated that Baba Ramdev was actually trying to fool people while his Anshan or Satyagrah was already fixed, Indian Media and specially Deepak Chourasia of Star News went vehemently against Baba Ramdev, blaming of fixing, fooling and all other things he could.

You might have wondered why he never blamed Kapil Sibbal himself when Mr. Sibbal announced that all complaints against A. Raja were false and there was no corruption in 2G Scam and all the big numbers of lost money as expressed by the CAG committee headed by Murli Manohar Joshi were false?
Well, one may understand that cheap news channels and news reporters like Deepak Chourasia and Star News and many other news channels are easily corruptible by themselves. They will always show that news and in that color, for which they are paid, and since they simply cannot reject the importance of government, they cannot talk against it too.

However, it is not about a few TV news channels or news papers. In fact, all so-called and obviously pseudo-intellectual journalists of India obviously found it easy to dump Ramdev and to support government and its barbaric actions against Ramdev. They will regularly update the nation about the barking words of Diggvijay Singh and they will keep trying to suggest that government was right in beating and nearly killing thousands of innocent and harmless people who gathered in Ram Leela Maidan to support the cause of Baba Ramdev.

Who support Baba Ramdev and Who Criticizes him and Why?

We first analyze the supporters of Baba Ramdev and his criticizers.
Most of the criticizers of Baba Ramdev are those who consider themselves as the great intellectuals of Indian society who can bring great changes in the perception of Indian people. These are the famous journalists, columnists and writers of Indian Newspapers. Irrespective of their own lack of knowledge about economic and administrative aspects of a democratic or any type of government, they will act as if they are the only righteous and intelligent souls of India.

Most of these pseudo-intellectuals have extended their support to Anna Hazare. While mentioning the support for Baba Ramdev, one of the columnist of Times of India said, “he is backed by people who don’t think. They will fast with him, and they will, if given a chance, die with him. And like the misguided terrorist, they will have done so thinking they will go to heaven directly from the Ram Lila grounds. What better way to die than your favourite yoga teacher conducting the final tour from earth to heaven?”

He further said, “Ram Dev has a disciple basis whose core is the naive, intellectually challenged lower middle class masses of rural India, and they run into their mystic millions, as illustrated by the 60 lakh and counting missed calls to volunteer for the Ram Dev movement. This is not the candle brigade that gets into action when socialites are murdered and justice is not done. This is the cattle brigade.”
So you see, these intellectuals think that anyone who is supporting Baba Ramdev is no less than a misguided terrorist, and they are no more than a cattle herd or brigade.

So Hazare fighting/fasting against corruption is ok but Baba Ramdev doing the same is not acceptable. Why is it because supporters of Hazare are urban (and easy to talk to or understand) or more middle class while poor Ramdev's followers are rural or as he has called them ‘cattle’? Another thing just for moment substitute Ramdev's name with Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, bingo don’t you get an article that could have been written by any bigoted white racist reporter when Gandhi was leading one of his numerous Satyagrahas. On second thought I don’t think any Englishmen would have stooped so low and exhibited his bias so openly.

While reading such columnists and journalists, what I come to realize is that they are nothing but a group of bigoted hate-mongers and their vile diatribe is nothing but frustrations of sycophants no longer in fashion. They say – “Ram Dev has a disciple basis whose core is the naive, intellectually challenged lower middle class masses of rural India” - I personally know retired Army Generals, serving corporate leaders and many more urban followers who are a far cry from the description you provide. They state - UPA government’s sophisticates like Kapil Sibal and Pranab Mukherjee are desperately seeking to engage in dialogue - Really? Sophisticates? They sure live in a delusional world I must say. Why do they stop short of saying - the learned sage Manmohan Singh and the Goddess incarnate Sonia have been so maligned?

Some people comment that Baba Ramdev is just a eigth-class drop out. They do not realize that even Bill Gates was an eight class drop out. Dhiru Bhai Ambani wasn’t an erudite; even Albert Einstein wasn’t able to clear his German schools. They also do not realize that even Mahatma Gandhi didn’t take birth with all the intelligence required to be a libertarian anti-government and pro-self governance person.
Now check out the intellect of these pseudo-intellectuals.

I, being a libertarian and a proponent of Austrian economy, understand that the call of Baba Ramdev to bring back all the black money stashed in foreign banks will do nothing good for India even if it is returned back. However, none of these so-called erudite and well-educated journalists and politicians like Pranab Mukherjee and Kapil Sibbal understands that.

You know, we don’t need money for better living, we cannot eat currency. What we need is wealth. Even if all the black money is brought back to India, what will happen? As a matter of fact, it will bring inflation and poverty. Why, because it will increase currency, but not the wealth of India.

If increasing currency could remove poverty, why doesn’t Government issues notice to RBI to print a huge amount of currency to be given to all poor to make every poor a millionaire? That will not make them richer. The increase in currency will not increase the area of cultivating land, nor it will increase area of jungles, nor it will increase number of farming tools, machines and tractors, nor it will increase the number of schools and roads and thermo-electric plants. Since the quantity of food grains, medicines, leisure goods and other amenities will remain same, the increased currency will only increase the prices of goods, and it will bring inflation.

It is not like Indian leaders cannot understand this, but they cannot accept it. If they accept this fact, they will actually accept that Indian people doesn’t need government. Because just like the currency printed by government is not wealth, it is also a fact that government cannot produce wealth. It can only destroy wealth as is happening in India and every other country since ages. Every year, a huge quantity of grains is left to spoil in Governmental store houses while many Indians die of hunger and malnutrition, many farmers commit suicide.

So the idea, that bringing back foreign currency will make India rich is typically false. However, isn’t it noble? Not everyone can be an intellectual or intelligent person. Does this make a person lacking his human rights? Baba Ramdev is certainly not as intelligent as Mahatma Gandhi was, yet, he has similar rights as Mahatma Gandhi had or any other person in current world has, he is a human and a noble, respectable Individual. Government’s action against him and his followers at Ram Leela Maidan are certainly condemnable.
Now check out the favoritism of these pseudo-intellectual Indian journalists. They support Anna Hazare and his call for LokPal Bill and they also claim that Anna Hazare is a Gandhian and every Indian should support him as he will improve India and Indian government, he will remove corruption.

It is the biggest proof that all these intellectuals are nothing but big idiots.

Just like the call for bringing black money back in India is useless, the call for Jan LokPal Bill is also useless. Why? Even if Anna Hazare and his civil committee succeeds in bringing Prime Minister, Legal System and All bureaucracy under the surveillance of LokPal Committee, who will check that the Lok Pal himself is not a corrupt? If Prime Minister himself can be a corrupt person or such a person who will compromise with others on their corruption for the sake of his political ruling power, why the civilian LokPal will not get corrupt or bribed?

Why do these idiot journalists and columnists and these respected members of Lok Pal Committee civil society believe that only politicians can get corrupt and not a common men who will be the chairman of Lok Pal Committee?

In fact an omnipotent Lok Pal will soon become a dictator. He will lead India like a dictator and things will go worse and there is no doubt about it. Any person with such huge power to write the fate of anyone in this whole country will certainly become a corrupt dictator.

Do I support Anna Hazare or Baba Ramdev?
I support them as a human being, but I don’t support their calls for Lok Pal Bill or bringing back of black money. I was feeling hurt and crying when I saw Delhi Police beating the supporters of Baba Ramdev, I felt like reaching to Delhi and fighting for the honor of Baba Ramdev, I am a atheist, and I am a slim and healthy person without doing any Yoga, I don't know if Yoga is charismatic or not, but I respect Baba Ramdev for being a human and I believe he is honest at his heart to the core.

Why do I not support their calls for checking governmental corruption?

Because I know that if there is government, there will be corruption. Being a libertarian, an anarcho-libertarian, I cannot support these good and respectable human beings until they demand for complete freedom, self-governance, Sampoorna Swaraj!

If there is government, there is corruption, bribery, injustice and inequality. To remove corruption, bribery, injustice and inequality, there is only one way, remove government.

U.S Patients Prefer High-Caliber and Cheaper Indian Medical Force

Sunday, May 22, 2011 0 comments
Last month, US president Barack Obama commented that it is not necessary for Americans to travel to India so that they may attain “cheap healthcare.” Guy Williams of Alaska, who is a basketball coach, didn’t agree with him. He laughed while mentioning that comment.

Williams said, "Obama must be crazy. Healthcare is extremely expensive in the US and so is health insurance, which is unaffordable for some 50 million Americans."

Williams recently enjoyed the prompt services of Apollo hospital in Chennai where he underwent a hip-surfacing surgery. He chose to travel from Alaska to Chennai for that surgery because it was impossible for him to afford that same medical service in US. The cost of same medical service in US is about $58,000. In India, he got much better and precise iPad navigating surgery for just $8,000.

The clinical strength of India is certainly able to offer much better results that a patient can achieve in the US and that too at much less fees. William is very happy about the outcome of his choice for India as his medical destination. He enjoyed his stay at the hospital and he is planning to get his brother to India so that he may also get benefited from the same treatment.

It is very common story. Many people from the United States prefer to travel to India for a medical tour. A few months ago, Ron Lemmer, a 65 years old American citizen decided to visit India so that he may live longer. He needed an immediate heart transplant which was seemingly difficult for him to achieve in the U.S. There were many people who told him that such a medical tour to a India may prove to be hazardous, however, Ron Lemmer paid no heed to such advices.

He visited India with his wife Shelly so that she may take care of him and proceedings when he goes through heart transplantation. He also chose to visit Apollo Hospital, a private health and medical care center situated at Chennai.

His doctors at Minnesota US warned them about the possible dangers of opting for heart transplantation in India. Shelly informed, "[They said] we were making a terrible decision: I'm going to come back with my husband in a box.”

However, those warning proved to be fake calls. Ron Lemmer achieved a successful heart transplant and Shelly now is quite happy as her husband is now completely healthy and both of them hope to enjoy life for long.

Ron said that he felt no pain when he woke up next morning after the heart transplant. Medical staff informed him about the success of transplant. They also informed him that he is now living with the help of the heart of a 36 year old Indian laborer. The laborer died in a road accident and so Ron got that piece of Indian heart. Feeling overwhelmed, Ron tried to seek the address of donor’s family. However, he failed because the donation was anonymous.

Back in US, there still were no chanced for Ron to get a heart transplant. Around 3,100 more people were on the US national list, who were desperately looking for a heart transplant. A donor’s heart is difficult to get. Once a heart becomes available for transplant, that patient gains it who is chosen by medical authorities according to his seriousness of illness. Other criteria is the period for which a person is waiting for the heart transplant. Ron Lemmer’s doctors informed him that it may take 18 more months for him to be able to achieve a heart transplant in US.

Last year, 359 heart patients died in the United States while waiting for a heart transplant. On an average, a person suffering the same critical conditions in which Ron Lemmer was (1 B priority level), may need to spend at least 73 days while waiting for a life saving transplant. However, the data of United Network for Organ Sharing suggest that many people wait for years and a good number of patients dies while waiting for a transplant.

As you can see, US president Barack Obama may comment again that Americans don’t need to visit India for gaining proper and cheap medical services, but the reality is just opposite. In America, medical services are not only rare, they are extremely costly.

Beware of IPL Cricketers Says Gabriella Pasqualotto an IPL Cheerleader

Friday, May 13, 2011 0 comments
Hot and sexy girls dancing to cheer the crowd and the cricketers! That’s one of the picturesque scenes on Indian pitches nowadays when whole India is enjoying the momentum of IPL cricket matches. The fun of IPL 2011 increased manifolds when compared with that of IPL 2010 because of the historical Indian winning streak in World Cup 2011. Indian cricket team brought the ICC World Cup back home after almost 28 years. Obviously, each and every member of the team became the hotspot for every Indian cricket fan. And as they all are taking part in IPL matches, every Indian is enjoying their heroes in action again.

However, this year has presented a different side of IPL cheerleaders. The first thing is, some of the IPL cricket teams like Kochi Tuskers and Kolkata Knight Riders decided to involve Indian cheerleaders performing Indian dances during the matches. Second and more surprising thing happened when a beautiful and sexy South African (Johannesburg) girl Gabriella Pasqualotto tweeted her mind and thinking about cricketers openly on Twitter. Obviously, she lost her job and a chance to enjoy the eyes of millions on Indians; she was sacked from being an IPL cheerleader for Mumbai Indians.

In one of her tweets at Twitter, she praised M.S Dhoni and Rohit Sharma, she also claimed that Sachin Tendulkar is highly devoted towards his family, however, she raised fingers over flirtatious Graeme Smith. She also blamed Australian cricketers as the most lewd cricketer and sportsmen.

Gabriella Pasqualotto tweeted, "MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma have been very polite and keep to themselves in the dark corners. Hotshots like Tendulkar with families at home are never present. The likes of Jonty Rhodes and Albie Morkel are notorious for having a good time with friends! 'Ol Graeme Smith will flirt with anything while his girlfriend lurks behind him."

Pasqualotto is 22 years old girl and she is certainly sexy and appealing that is why she was chosen as the IPL cheerleader for Mumbai Indians. However, her experiences in India were not as happy as she might have dreamed of. While explaining the Indian scenario, she tweeted, “all eyes are on you all the time; it is complete voyeurism. The women double take, see you and then pretend you do not exist. The men see your face, then your boobs, your butt, and then your boobs again! As we walk, all you hear is 'IPL, IPL!' with a little head jingle!"

While women in west are free to project their sexuality to enjoy their freedom, they also enjoy exposing behaviors. However, in Indian culture, things are pretty different, it’s complicated. What she might have been enjoying in South Africa (Johannesburg) or any other part of the western world became a reason for voyeurism. This is because guys here never see that much portion of flesh on streets, or roads or cricket stadiums. Here still are girls who voluntarily opt to use Burqas, Ghoonghat, Niqab or veils.

Obviously, when a western girl comes to India and tries to live her life with same sexuality and exposing behavior, what she observes is that which was commented by Pasqualotto, “To the citizens, we are practically like walking porn! All eyes are on you all the time; it is complete voyeurism. The women double take, see you and then pretend you do not exist. The men see your face, then your boobs, your butt, and then your boobs again! As we walk, all you hear is “IPL, IPL!” with a little head jingle!”

However, she was most critical about Australian cricketers. Why was that? Australia is obviously a part of western world. Australian girls are amongst the most free, sexually explosive and certainly above the limits of shyness. I am sure Australian players might not have found IPL cheerleaders as anything new. So why were they acting so vulgar? But we have seen decency of Steve Waugh and Paul Rifle too, so it would be wrong to say that all Australian Cricketers are vulgar.

Gabriella Pasqualotto said, “The Aussies are fun but naughty, such as Aiden Blizzard and Dan Christian. By the end of a crazy evening, a certain someone had played kissing catchers with three girls known to me only, although he has his own girlfriend back home. He cooed to each girl, ‘Come home with me, I just want to cuddle!’”

Well, that is nothing new revelation about Australian cricketers. Our beloved Shane Warne, captain and mentor of Rajasthan Royals, has shown his lewd nature many times in history. However, the question remains the same, in spite of having so high degree of sexual freedom in Australia, why Australian cricketers are so vulgar, sex crazy and lewd? Why do they consider IPL cheerleaders nothing more than flesh and meat?

Another burning issue is, the complaining IPL cheerleader Pasqualotto is South African, and Ol’ Grame Smith is also South African. When South African girls like Pasqualotto are so free that they can expose their sexuality openly, why South African cricketers like Graeme Smith feels it as something new and tries to flirt with every other girl?

Now one may say that with increasing sexual freedom for girls, boys naturally gets a free pass for flirting. Voyeurism becomes trend. But if it is so, why Gabriella Pasqualotto found it something wrong?

Or may be its only cricketers who are lewd and vulgar? But then Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, M.S. Dhoni and other Indian cricketers whom Gabriella Pasqualotto praised for being polite, sensitive and decent, are also cricketers. So, not all cricketers are vulgar and sex crazy.

Thus while Pasqualotto claimed, “Oh, please! I have come to realise that cricketers are the most loose and mischievious sportsmen I have come across. Makes me wonder if I should worry about them more then the commoners on the street! I still have a long while here, so I shall keep my tip list in mind,” I disagree with her on that.

Understanding the Third Sex and Issues Related with Transgender

Wednesday, May 11, 2011 0 comments
Transgender are not uncommon in our societies throughout the world. However, often they fail to attain a respectable and much deserved comfortable life in the world of the two predominant sexes of the society. Transgender people are present in every country including US, Russia, Mexico, Britain, India, China etc.

Yet, societies often discard them as unwanted. In some countries, transgender are allowed to be a part of the society, however, they find it difficult to mix up within the society freely and often they suffer humiliation, discrimination and poverty.

The major issue that a transgender faces is the difficulty in expressing their gender and the related issues. However, in some countries, like India, transgender are provided a special societal position, they often live in groups and there are some successful transgender in professional and political mainstreams of India. Yet, except a few successful transgender, the majority of people belonging to this third sex suffer discrimination, humiliation and hatred.

How to Deal with a Transgender?

A man or woman may find it difficult and confusing to mingle with a transgender. The basic problem that you will face is the uncertainty about how to act in the presence of a transgender without doing anything that may hurt their feeling or emotions or may cause them to feel humiliated. In general, people do not want to hurt them, yet, our general confusion, awkwardness and uncertainty becomes a reason for their humiliation.

The Issue of the Gender of a Transgender

Officially, only male and female are considered as the two present sexes. Hence, a transgender find it difficult to try to seek proper education, job or official help. This is because most of the official papers demand gender identity while transgender is not an officially recognized gender while the only two gender identities mentioned in official papers are male or female. In such a situation, a transgender find if forced on them to lie about their gender identity and to present themselves either as a male or a female.

It would be better if government organizations and in fact private corporate firms also try to solve out this issue by either providing valid identification for the third gender as transgender, or by making it optional to declare the sex identity of a person.

This issue is pretty similar to the issue of allowing free choice of either to mention someone’s sexual behaviour or not to mention it. Just like a bisexual or homosexual person finds it difficult to announce his or her personal sexual orientation, a transgender also may find it humiliating to announce about their gender.

If you come in contact with a transgender, you should try not to show your confusion about how to react in such a situation. Use appropriate language while conversing with a transgender and try not to make an issue of “by what gender should they be recognized?”

Transgender people are cool and friendly and often they love to converse with males and females without any hesitation while trying to answer all possible queries or curiosities a person may feel about them. However, while asking questions and trying to know more about them, you need to be respectful and patient while giving them enough space and proper time to answer your queries appropriately.

Just like a male or female, transgender are human beings and they deserves every individual right along with proper respect and humanly love.

Teenage Pregnancy and Issues related with Teen Moms

Sunday, May 8, 2011 0 comments
Teen pregnancy is one such issue which is common to both the developing world and the developed industrialized countries. However, the reason for teen pregnancy is different in different cases. In developing countries of Asia and specially in Indian sub-continental countries (India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal et all) teen pregnancies often occurs within married relationships as these countries still suffer social problems such as child marriages.

On the other hand, in industrialized countries such as the USA, UK, France, Italy or Switzerland, the main reason for teen pregnancy is high sexual involvements of teens in unmarried relationships.

The United States suffers with the highest rate of teen pregnancy in the developed world. Recently, at the occasion of the United States National Day for Prayers, MTV renewed its fourth season of Teen Mom, which is an initiative to spread awareness about the issues and problems related with teen moms in general.

According to the Center for Disease Control in the United States, one-third or 33% of American girls get pregnant before the age of 20.

The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy maintains a website teenpregnancy.org to provide relevant information about the issues and according to the site, the United States faces "750,000 teen pregnancies annually. Eight in ten of these pregnancies are unintended and 81 percent are to unmarried teens."

Teen moms often suffer social stigmata and that increases the risk for babies born to teenage mothers. They faces major long lasting problems in many areas such as schooling failure, mental and physical illness and poverty.

Teen moms also suffer similar risks. Proper studies on teen moms reveal certain facts about teen pregnancy:
  • Teen mothers often drop out of high school
  • They often are and remain single parents
  • Teen moms score lower in math, science and reading into adolescence
Teen pregnancy is often considered as a huge crisis for the pregnant girl along with her family. She often suffers anger, guilt, and denial. If the father of such child is also a teen, he also suffers similar reactions in his family.

However, in most of the cases, teen mothers are found to be engaged with elder men of age at least 6 or more years more than their own ages.

Adolescent moms often fail to attain proper medical care during pregnancy period and that increases the risks for medical complications. It is necessary to provide special understanding, education, and medical care along with information about nutrition, substance abuse, infections, and complications of pregnancy and delivery.

Teen moms should be taught about dangers of using tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs as this may damage the foetus in their womb. All pregnant teens should also be provided with medical care beginning right from their early pregnancy.

Often teen moms remain uncertain about their role and responsibilities for their child, as a result, babies of teenage mothers often suffer risk of neglect and abuse.

Teenage mothers often get frustrated because of the regular demand of caretaking for their child. Their frustration further increases because mostly they remain single parents.

Teen girls should be educated about contraception and their proper usage because education about contraceptives leads them to use contraception while having sex.

However, sex education and information about contraceptives doesn’t cause any negative effect by lowering the age at their first sexual activities.

How to Prevent Teen Pregnancies

Many teen girls remain excited about their sexual life and how to start it. If you are about to involve in a sexual relation, the best way is to attain all possible information about different types of contraceptives as the usage of proper contraceptive will reduce chances of unwanted pregnancy.

According to the Public Health Agency of Canada, 25 percent of young teens who have intercourse without a proper contraceptive are likely to become pregnant within a month.

Parents are required to get involved with their teen children and to discuss about sex and contraceptives.
